THE STORY OF MUSHROOMS
THE PAST
Ross has played in bands since the age of 14, and like many musicians, had a long standing dream of making music his focus. With this in mind, he decided to begin the process of turning his dreams into reality by building his own set of rehearsal rooms. A different type of room - somewhere with a homely feel and an emphasis on high end gear for an overall better quality of rehearsal. The type of room that he'd like to rehearse in himself.

After ten long years searching for premises in Edinburgh (plus a few false starts), he eventually found what was to be the home of Mushrooms in Musselburgh. His hometown.

THE PRESENT
A decade on, Mushrooms now has double the number of purpose built rooms that it started with, and 2022 saw the launch of a brand spanking new recording set up with Dann of Bezombie Audio at the helm.
Ross first heard an EP of Dann’s when he used to rehearse at Mushrooms himself, and was blown away by the skill and magicianship of his recording. He knew that Dann just ‘had it’, and with the technical credentials to back up his skills too, he was delighted when Dann agreed to jump onboard as Mushrooms in-house producer and engineer.
